My hobbies include taking dance classes, cooking new dishes for my family, watching The Discovery Health Channel, exercising constantly, and various community activities. Back to Top What makes you special and unique? My name is what makes me special and unique! It makes me special because it is my grandfather and fathers middle name and it makes me unique because it is spelled different...I'm so glad my parents chose this name! Back to Top What is the best advice you have ever received? The best advice I have ever received is always keep a smile on your face. My grandmother gave me this advice. In high school, and in life, there are many challenges, but with a smile it always makes it better. Back to Top Name one thing you cannot live without. One thing I cannot live without is my chapstick. I always have to have the Carmex near by. Back to Top What's the most valuable lesson you've ever learned? The most valuble lesson I have ever learned is never give up. Last year I tried for the title of Vicksburg's Outstanding Teen and was selected as first alternate. I could have easily given up. Somehow I pulled through, worked my hardest, and competed again this year. I won the title of Vicksburg's Outstanding Teen and that taught me to never give up. If I would have given up I would never have the opportunity to hold this great title. Back to Top Who is your most valued role model and why? My most valuble role model is my grandmother. She has done a great job in raising and instilling values in my mom. This led my mother to be the great person that she is today, and the person that I am today! Back to Top What was your most unexpected moment? My most unexpected moment was being approached at school to try out for Total Sound, Warren Cental's Show Choir. I hesitantly agreed to try out. The last time I was in choir was sixth grade, but I am now a part of Total Sound...Wow! Back to Top What is your workout routine? My workout routine consists of the Bosu Ball which works wonders, strength training, resistance training, and walking with my mom and schnauzer. Back to Top What has been your biggest accomplishment to date? My biggest accomplishment to date is being confirmed in my church. It is wonderful to be a true member of my church. Back to Top What is the best compliment you have ever received? The best compliment I have ever recieved was an indirect compliment. I was chosen to be a part of What's Up With That Teen Coalition. To be selected for this program sponsors for the coalition talked to school councelors and principals to select new members. I felt so honored that my councelors and principals recommended me for this great opportunity! Back to Top What is your secret wish? My secret wish is to have the lead role in my senior dance recital next year. Back to Top What was your most embarrassing moment? My most embarrassing moment or should I say week....Sub Deb initiation week was very embarrassing. For initiation we had to dress as babies with bibs, pig tails, and diapers. After being dressed up everyday we had a new challenge sometimes rolling through ice cream and syrup or doing relays on tiny tricycles covered in whipped cream and fruity pebbles. What a week! Back to Top What is your biggest guilty pleasure? My biggest guilty pleasure is anything with chocolate involved. Back to Top What is your favorite movie and why? My favorite movie is "Home Alone 2: Lost in New York" because it makes me laugh every single time. Back to Top What do you like to do for fun... relaxation... recreation? For fun I like to try new restaurants with my friends. For relaxation I have two things that help. Going to the gym to run or sitting on my front porch when the weather is nice is always very relaxing.
For recreation I love to wakeboard. I'm not very good at it, but trying is the best part.
What would be your dream vacation or destination? What do you like best about the state of Mississippi? Where do you see yourself in ten years? What extracurricular activities do you participate in? Who am I? This year I served as Junior Class President and Vice President of Cotillion. Serving as Junior Class President was a great experience. As president of any activity you are looked upon for answers and ideas, those are two reasons why I am so passionate about being a leader! While being passionate about food and exercising soung like a strange combination it's very true! I have a major weakness for anything involving chocolate, but I also know the importance of a balanced diet and exercising. Having a love for food and nutrition helped me chose the major that I would like to persue. Nutrition Concentration is the major I would like to work for in order to become a dietician.
Another thing I am passionate about is exercising. I truly enjoy going to the gym. Leaving the gym after a great workout is so rewarding both mentally and physically. For me mentally it helps to reduce stress and physically rewarding because I am staying in shape. I wish more teens could get involved in exercising ,in any way, so the obeisity rate of our teens today would lower.
Tell us about your platform. Attending such a large high school is what helped me to chose this platform. There are so many people that attend my highschool and all of them are different in many ways. Some children choose to be involved in drug and alcohol use. I believe that with more attention to this issue everyone could help teens choose not to participate in these dangerous activities.
Last summer I was selected to be in What's Up With That Teen Coalition. Being a part of this coalition has helped me so much in promoting my platform and helping teens. Several of the members including myself served on a pannel at the town hall meeting to answer questions for parents about drugs and alcohol. This meeting was televised on two television stations here in Vicksburg. I was so pleased to know that teens as well as parents were being reached through this great program. I feel so fortunate to be a member of this great organization.
