I am the only girl in six generations born on my Dad's side of the family.

What is the best advice you have ever received?
The best advice I have ever recieved came from my grandmother. She always used to tell me that I can do anything if I believe that I can. Now, whenever I am faced with a challenge, I remember what she told me, and it always gives me the strength and motivation to exceed my expectations.

Name one thing you cannot live without.
I could never live without God. He is my best friend, my savior, my Father, and my solid rock. I could not go through a single day without talking to Him. He helps me through anything and everything.

What's the most valuable lesson you've ever learned?
The most valuable lesson I have ever learned was to never believe gossip, and never repeat it. Most of it is untrue, and it always ends up hurting someone.

Who is your most valued role model and why?
My most valued role model is the current Miss Jones County, Hillary Walters. I have known Hillary for a very long time and even though she is almost ten years older than me, she has shown me that she is a very kind, caring person. She has great leadership ability and is a very outgoing, well spoken, and passionate young woman. I have learned, and continue to learn, many things from her.

What was your most unexpected moment?
When I was ten years old, I was an overweight pee-wee cheerleader. I couldn't tumble very well, but I gave it my all on technique. I knew that every year at cheerleading camp they nominated the top cheerleaders as "All American." When it came time for them to call out the nominees, my name was the last name I expected to be called out. To my surprise, I heard one of the cheerleaders say "Kimberly Page, Glade Pee-wee." I was so overwhelmed. I couldn't breathe, or say anything. All I could do was cry as I walked up to accept my certificate. I was so happy, because I had worked so hard.

What is your workout routine?
I would be lying if I said I was one of those people who love to work out. However, I just crank up my i-pod and time flys by quickly. I usually start my workout routine with cardio. Then I move on to abs and lift weights. I finish by running 1-3 miles. I also have gymnastic classes once a week and cheerleading practice twice a week.

What has been your biggest accomplishment to date?
This past March, I gave a speech in front of 2,000+ students at Mississippi's Junior Beta Club Convention. I was later voted on by my peers and I currently serve as Mississippi's Junior Beta Club President.

What is the best compliment you have ever received?
Someone once told me that I am just as beautiful on the inside as I am on the outside. I hold this compliment dear to me because it meant so much to know that just a little extra kindness really impacted someone else.

What is your secret wish?
My secret wish is to travel back in time. I have always heard stories about how things were decades ago. I think it would be interesting to live in those time periods and experience first-hand how things really were.

What was your most embarrassing moment?
I was at a movie with a guy from school. Once the movie ended we walked outside the theater and I went to the bathroom before we left. I came out and was surprised to find people snickering and pointing at me. I walked over to my friend and he had to tell me that I had toilet paper stuck to the bottem of my shoe.

What is your biggest guilty pleasure?
My biggest guilty pleasure would have to be watching scary movies with my daddy and eating Rocky Road ice cream.

What is your favorite movie and why?
Ever since I was two, my favorite movie has always been "A Little Princess." I used to watch it when I was sick and I still love it to this day. The movie is based on "The Little Princess" written by Frances Hogsen Burnett. It reminds us that no matter what circumstances, every girl is a princess.

What do you like to do for fun... relaxation... recreation?
I love to sing! My mother has even said that sometimes I sing in my sleep. I sing when I'm happy, and sad. Music is an escape for me. It puts me in this happy place so that for a brief monent, I can take a break from the world around me, before having to jump back into things.

What would be your dream vacation or destination?
I would love more than anything to travel to China. My aunt adopted a little girl from China and ever since hearing her stories, I have been thinking about interesting it would be to actually visit China. I am just so curious to see how they live there. If I travel out of Mississippi things are different. I can only imagine how different things are outside of the United States!

What do you like best about the state of Mississippi?
I love that good ol' hospitality and home cooking that only exists here!

Where do you see yourself in ten years?
In ten years I see myself being a past title holder, or competing for the title of Miss Mississippi. I will then use the opportunities my title gives me to further pursue my platform. I would use my scholarship money to continue my education required to become a pediatrician.

What extracurricular activities do you participate in?
I am a member of show choir at my high school. I am captain of my junior high cheerleading squad. Currently, I serve as Mississippi's Junior Beta Club President. I am a member of youth choir at my church and take gymnastic classes once a week and vocal training twice a week.

Who am I?
Who am I? I am Outstanding Teen Southern Magnolia, Mississippi's Junior Beta President, President of junior high student council, captain of my cheerleading squad, and a member of show choir. These are all just titles. Who am I really? I am a friend, the girl next door, the person you call at three in the morning when your boyfriend broke up with you, and the biggest Rocky Road ice cream junkie in the world. My mother once told me to treat everyone like you want to be treated. That is how I try to live my day to day life.

I love people and live to socialize. I remember this story my dad loves to tell. He says that whenever I was about three years old, he was planning on entertaining friends one night. However, he unexpectedly had to work late. He came home to find Mother in the kitchen, and a three year old me entertaining everyone. We all laugh about this story because it proves that I have always been this way- fun loving and highly sociable.

Another thing that plays a very important factor in my life is music. Whether I'm singing or just listening, it always puts me in my happy place. Once I learned to talk it was all over. I had found this thing called music and there was no stopping me. Performing is my passion. Being on stage makes me feel like nothing else matters. My music completes me.

Tell us about your platform.
Mississippi leads the nation in percentage of birth to teens. My goal through my platform is to raise public awareness and stress that sexual purity through abstinence is the only real and safe choice for teenagers today.

Abstinence would eliminate teen pregnancy, aide in the prevention of child abuse, help prevent the spread of sexually transmitted diseases, and lower the abortion rate in our state. The only way to completely eliminate these issues is to stress abstinence in our schools, churches, and homes.

Coming from a Christian home, the importance of sexual purity was always stressed to me. By education teens about the risks involved in premarital sexual activities, we are enabling them to make educated, responsible decisions, discovering the only safe answer is abstinence.
