What makes you special and unique?
My brother has always told me that I wasn't the brightest crayon in the box. I told him that I wasn't in the primary box of crayons, I am in the box of glitter crayons! I just don't think outside the box, I was never in the box. I have my own style and I like to stand alone! I like to stand up for what I believe in and I am not afraid to be left out if I don't want to go along with the crowd.

What is the best advice you have ever received?
The best advice that I have ever received is from my Mom. It was that no matter how many pageants I win or lose, no matter how many crowns line the shelves of my room, the ultimate crown is yet to be won. You have to keep your heart in training, full of love, forgiveness, and beauty. Your heart and soul is what will win you the ultimate crown of glory in the end.

Name one thing you cannot live without.
Toilet Paper, of course! What else would you put for this answer!!!

What's the most valuable lesson you've ever learned?
Not to trust everyone you meet! I trust too easily and I get hurt too easily from trusting. I am a very honest person and I expect everyone I meet to be honest also. I don't expect people to be dishonest, but in today's world, you can't trust just anybody and I have learned this the hard way!

Who is your most valued role model and why?
My Mother! Definitely! My Mother is Superwoman! I don't know how she does what she does in a day's time. She wears me out watching her. She molds me into the woman that I need to become. She is my best friend and no matter what I do wrong, she is always there with open arms to love me. That unconditional love is awesome! Her advice is always right, but don't tell her I admitted it. You can't have a better best friend or role model than a good mother. Mine is the best!

What was your most unexpected moment?
Winning swimsuit competition in the Miss Mississippi Teen USA and The Miss Mississippi Teen America. Swimsuit competition is hard! To win is an unexpected moment for any teenager I would think!

What is your workout routine?
I spend most days eating and then sleeping. Then I eat and sleep some more! Seriously, I don't have a workout routine. I have epilepsy! I am not able to workout very often. I love to swim so in the summer, I swim everyday. I eat very healthy, but I eat a lot. I have an extremely high metabolism and I dread the day it catches up with me. I am also very tall which helps when you put on those extra pounds.

What has been your biggest accomplishment to date?
Overcoming the depression of epilepsy. Having epilepsy has been a life-changing experience for not only me, but my entire family. My personal accomplishment has been just being able to control the seizures enough to live a productive life and finish my junior year. I was not able to go to school everyday and was homebound which really depressed me for a while. I am not able to drive or use a cell phone like most teenagers. It was very depressing for a while, but I am fortunate in many ways and I know that the Lord is putting me through this to make me stronger. I will learn from this and be able to help others with epilepsy. I just might not always be standing!

What is the best compliment you have ever received?
The best compliment that I ever received was from a pageant director that I was with for a week told me I was much prettier on the inside than I was on the outside. Sometimes, you get stereotyped by the way you look or the way you dress and people don't give you a chance to get to know you. I am a good person on the inside and I want everyone to know that. I was so happy that the director got to know me and it meant so much to me for her to say that. I will never forget that moment.

What is your secret wish?
My secret wish is to someday be Miss America and be on the cover of a magazine, but don't tell anyone!

What was your most embarrassing moment?
You know that commercial where the girl walks out of the restroom with her dress hung in her panty hose! Well, it happened to me. After I used the restroom, my skirt got hung in my backpack. I came out to recess and everyone was looking and laughing. Finally, a friend came over and pulled my skirt out of my backpack.

What is your biggest guilty pleasure?

What is your favorite movie and why?
Legally Blonde.....She is so me!!!I can really relate to her. I am thinking of trying to get into law school just so i can wear those awesome outfits!!!

What do you like to do for fun... relaxation... recreation?
My idea of fun, relaxation and recreation would be going to Destin for the week. Getting massages, manicures, pedicures and lying on the beach all day. We go eat around 5:00 or 6:00 pm and then we shop til the stores close every night for 7 nights. Girls only trip!!!!

What would be your dream vacation or destination?
This past Christmas my family decided to start going on trips each Christmas instead of exchanging gifts. We went to Whistler (Canada) which was the most beautiful place I think I have ever been. I love the beach, but the snow at Christmas was a dream come true. Even though I had a seizure almost every day, it was the best family vacation we have ever taken. We plan to go back again. The scenery was breathtaking. It was the most snow I have ever seen in my life. This is going to be where the next winter olympics will be held.

What do you like best about the state of Mississippi?
The best thing about Mississippi is our southern hospitality. My family travels a lot. I have never traveled to any state that has the hospitality that Mississippi has. Alabama would hold a close second place, but Mississippi is first place when it comes to friendly people. One summer we lived in New York modeling. My Mother had to make us quit talking to people on the subways because it was not safe and they would know we were from Mississippi because we were so friendly!

Where do you see yourself in ten years?
I see myself as Master of Ceremony of the 60th Anniversary Miss Mississippi Pageant as the 2007 Miss Mississippi Outstanding Teen and the 2010 Miss America.

What extracurricular activities do you participate in?
I am limited to what I can do because of my epilepsy. However, I am a devoted volunteer for the FAITH Food Pantry in my hometown that feeds about 2,000 people each month. I participate in fund raisers to fund the food pantry. I am a spokesperson for FACES which is a non-profit organization to helping find a cure for epileptic seizures. Recently, I have partnered with LeBonheur Children's Research Hospital in Memphis Tennessee (Epilepsy Monitoring Unit) to remodel the 7th floor playroom and head a DVD drive. I am asking businesses in the area for red wagons to help transport young patients from MRI to EEG, etc... and for new or used DVD for the children to watch while being tested.

Who am I?
I am truly try to be a good person on the inside and what you see is what you get. My family says I must have blonde roots because I don't always see things as everyone else does. I tell them I am gifted. I am a Christian that truly believes in prayer and don't pray for something that you don't want the Lord to give you. Prayer works!!!! God is real!

I love to eat! I can eat more that my brother and my Dad put together at one meal. My date could go broke trying to feed me. My favorite food is southern cooking such as peas, potatoes, fried chicken, cabbage, brussel sprouts, turnip greens, carrots, and bread. I love dessert too! I don't like french fries and soft drinks. I know that is weird for a teenager, but I don't.

I don't like talking on the phone. I had rather text message if I could. I don't have a boyfriend at the time. I like hanging out with family and friends. I want to find a boyfriend that is a Christian and puts God first.

Tell us about your platform.
My platform is F.A.C.E.S. (Finding A Cure For Epileptic Seizures). FACES is a national campaign for epilepsy. It is a non-profit organization that is committed to educating the public about epilepsy. It works to eliminate the stigma that exists among some individuals in the community. I am sincerely committed to this platform because last May, I was diagnosed with epilepsy and i know first hand how hard it is to have that stigma that I am disabled. I am truly committed to use my title and my disability to show the community that people with disabilities can live a happy and productive life.

I would like to go into the school systems and educate teachers and students on rights and options they have in educating students with epilepsy and educate other students on how to handle a friend with epilepsy. I want to let them know this is not a disease, it is a disorder that can be controlled with medication. I am committed to projects such as the LeBonheur playroom that is devoted to epileptic patients. I want to use my title to see that the playroom is stocked with toys and DVDs for young epileptic patients. Epiletic Patients can live a happy and productive life, we just may not always be standing!
