Cheerleading, playing soccer, volleyball, swimming, boating, riding wave runners, talking on the phone, and hanging out with my friends. Back to Top What makes you special and unique? I am very easy going. I have a wide range of friends, I think you should be nice to everyone you know. No person should be mistreated. This is what causes all the problems in our school systems. Back to Top What is the best advice you have ever received? To make my own decisions for myself and not let anyone else run my life. Back to Top Name one thing you cannot live without. My cell phone. I keep notes, phone numbers and important messages in it and also love to talk to friends and family. Back to Top What's the most valuable lesson you've ever learned? My family will always be here for me, no matter what happens in life you can really count on your family. Back to Top Who is your most valued role model and why? Tyra Banks is my role model. She is a famous model who lives her own life and doesn't let other peoples opinions get to her. She hasn't changed who she is just because she is famous. Back to Top What was your most unexpected moment? I am from a small community that doesn't have much change after several petitions we finally got a soccer team and I am one of the main players. Back to Top What is your workout routine? I don't have a regular routine but, I am very active. We practice cheerleading every day and twice a day sometimes and I have dance lessons once a week. So I do very little sitting around. I am always on the go and very busy. Back to Top What has been your biggest accomplishment to date? I was in the 8th grade when I was a part of the Disney Thanksgiving Day Parade. And winning the national championship for all-star cheerleading level 4 junior coed two years in a row. Back to Top What is the best compliment you have ever received? My soccer coach presented me with the leadership and hustle award, which he calls the Brave Award. The Braves is our team name and mascot. Back to Top What is your secret wish? Would be to live in Australia and be a dolphin trainer but, this is just a dream. I would never leave the USA or my family and friends. Back to Top What was your most embarrassing moment? Anytime I bring a guy to my house, I have 3 brothers and a dad that just love to tell all the stories they can to embarrass me. Back to Top What is your biggest guilty pleasure? My biggest guilty pleasure is when I get my little sister in trouble for something that I did. But its not ever that bad because I will stick up for her when she gets in trouble too. Back to Top What is your favorite movie and why? Step Up Is my favorite movie. I love all dancing movies. Is is a love story that deals with making decisions and loosing loved ones. It shows that you can be anything you want to be but, you have to believe in yourself. Back to Top What do you like to do for fun... relaxation... recreation? I love to go to the lake and hang out with my friends. We ride waveruners or just float around on the boat. Back to Top What would be your dream vacation or destination? The ultimate vacation would be to stay on the ocean and get to do a dolphin encounter and swim with the dolphins. Back to Top What do you like best about the state of Mississippi? I love small towns. I enjoy going to town and knowing everybody; you really feel safe. There is always someone you can count on. Back to Top Where do you see yourself in ten years? I see myself as a teacher, coaching a cheer team or even a soccer team. I would also like to own my own gym and help girls to compete in cheer and dance, it gives you great self confidence. Back to Top What extracurricular activities do you participate in? I am a cheerleader, play soccer, a member of BETA club, FCA, and student council. Back to Top Who am I? My name is Skye James. I am 17 years old and a senior at Tishomingo County High School, a member of Iuka Baptist Church and I love school. I do not like for students to be disruptive in class. I encourage my friends to come to school and not skip class. I am very punctual, I don't think you should be late for anything, you should be at least 15 minutes early where ever you go. I have been setting my own alarm clock and getting ready for school since I started the 6th grade. I believe all kids are good if given a chance, everyone doesn't have the ability to be a star athlete or even make strait A's but, everyone does have something special they can share with the world. Some people are just there to help the world smile, some are care takers, some are great cooks, some have great speaking abilities and some will be our leaders of tomorrow and many other things but everyone contributes some way in life. I would like to become a teacher and help all kids succeed in life. I have been taking modeling and acting class at John Robert Powers for 2 years. I have meet a lot of nice people. I have interviewed with agents who work with very famous people. I want to do the (IPOP) International Presentation of Performers. This is a audition that takes place twice a year once in New York and once in Los Angeles. I would like to do some modeling while attending college; I have done a couple of run way shows and a bridal show and it is really neat.
I also enjoy going out to nice restaurants with my family and friends. With three brothers, two sister-in-laws, two sisters, two nieces, and one nephew; a lot of grand parents aunts and uncles we do have a great time just doing birthday dinners. But my favorite food is Little Debbie fudge rounds, they are great treats.
Tell us about your platform.
I think there should be an elective class for students who want to become teachers to help out with troubled students. Some of these students just need a little extra help and teachers have a great load and a lot of responsibility if they had young fresh help, it could be a plus for everyone.
