What makes you special and unique?
I could name so many different things that make me unique, but being the only girl out of three boys sets me apart from most people. What makes us special is that we are all athletic. We all participate in sports year-round and have always had a passion for athletics. My mom always said, "It would be nice to have just one musician out of the bunch." Ha!

What is the best advice you have ever received?
A wise coach once said to me, "Only you hold the power to chart your own destiny."

Name one thing you cannot live without.
I absolutely cannot live without my parents! They are always there for me when I need them and they always are willing to listen to my problems. They do so much for me and give me all the things I need and want. They are truly a blessing.

What's the most valuable lesson you've ever learned?
Life is too short. Grudges are a waste of perfect happiness. Laugh when you can, apologize when you should, and let go of what you can't change. Love deeply and forgive quickly, take chances, give everything, and have no regrets. Life is too short to be unhappy. You have to take the good with the bad, smile when your sad, love what you got, and always remember what you had. Always forgive but never forget, learn from your mistakes but never regret. People change, and things go wrong but always remember life goes on!

Who is your most valued role model and why?
My English teacher, Mrs. Rose Davis, is my most valued role model. She has taught me so many valuable lessons in life and is an extremly smart woman. She has always told me that my goals should be out of reach but not out of sight and always pushes me to do better than my best.

What is your workout routine?
My workout routine is very hectic at times. I practice basketball in the mornings for and hour before I go to school which includes lots of excercise. Then I go to school which is a workout itself and after school I have dance practice for two hours. When I come home I like to stretch and do inside excercises. I also go to Anatomies with my friends.

What do you like to do for fun... relaxation... recreation?
I enjoy having fun hanging out with my friends at water parks and theme parks! There is never a dull moment with that crowd. The definition of relaxtion would have to be riding in the beautiful sunshine with the tops off of my car. Nothing is better than clearing your mind with a long highway and no clue of where your going. I would have to say my life is recreation. There's always something going on.

Who am I?
I enjoy hanging out with my best friend Bailey Fortenberry. She knows how to make me happy when I am sad and she always puts a smile on my face. I also truely enjoy children! I love to work with special needs kids. They are some of the most loving people I have ever been around. I feel they have made me a better person by showing me that no matter what life throws at you, you can always overcome it with love and support from others.

I'm the type of person that loves to goof around and have a laugh but I also understand and know when to be serious. I think laughing should be an enforced law for everyone. I feel that laughter could help brighten everyones day and should be essential in life. I'm also not a big fan of "fake people". I like to get to know the "real you" and not the image you would like to portray. Being yourself means alot to me. It takes courage to be vulnerable, but it's the only way to create the possibility that someone will give you back the love you deserve.

Don't let todays disappointments cast a shadow on tomorrows dreams. I try not to dwell on the past but look towards the future and I'm a big believer of self-motivation! Everyone should be self-confident and believe in theirselves. Also God has blessed and helped me through the crazy yet wonderful life of mine and I praise his ways of doing so. May God bless everyone!

Tell us about your platform.
One of my passions is Teenage Tobacco Use because no one speaks to teenagers like their own peers.

I am faced with peer pressure daily, having friends and classmates who choose to use tobacco products, and with advertisement that is designed to make teens think that smoking is cool and that everyone does it. Tobacco is often the first drug used by teens that go on to use alcohol and illegal drugs. The youth tobacco survey shows that Mississippi has reduced smoking by 48% among public middle school students and by 32% among high school students since these percentages outpace the national numbers which are 12% among middle school and 21% in high school. This is evidence that tobacco prevention is one of the smartest and responsible investments that our state can make. This is why I feel it is so important to make sure we keep the support that is needed from our state and government.
