What is the best advice you have ever received?
The best advice I have ever received would have to be to always do what is right and to never lower my standards for anyone or anything.

Name one thing you cannot live without.
I can not live with out my family. Your family will be there even when no one else is!

What's the most valuable lesson you've ever learned?
To be nice and try to love everyone you meet no matter how they may treat you. Also, following the golden rule will make your life easier. "Treat other people how you would like to be treated".

Who is your most valued role model and why?
President George W. Bush may be a very controversial choice as my role model but he and I share very similar beliefs. He values his Christian morals and always does what he thinks is best for the people. Despite some unfortunate decisions he is never hesitant to admit when he is wrong. He handles extreme responsibility and never lets criticism bring him down.

What was your most unexpected moment?
I have many things that stand out to me when I think about this question. My happiest unexpected moment came one Monday afternoon when I walked up to my back door and almost tripped over a absolutely beautiful vase of flowers and a sweet card sent to me. My day had not been too great up until then and I now joke how even after my terrible day those flowers almost "knocked me off my feet"!

What is your workout routine?
I love to be outdoors so I do not have a strict routine. I Jog/walk for about 40 minutes with arm weights. Jogging works your entire body!

What has been your biggest accomplishment to date?
My biggest accomplishment to date would have to be when I learned how to overcome my severe anxiety! Getting on stage would nearly take every bit of courage and energy I had. I find it funny now how performing is one of my favorite things to do!

What is the best compliment you have ever received?
The best compliment I have ever received would have to be the time a sweet, elderly lady from my church approached me and told me that she had watched me grow up for years and she had never seen such a beautiful girl have such an outstanding personality to match, and that she expected wonderful things out of me. We all hear these things from our families and friends but hearing the sincerity of it from a near stranger really touched me.

What is your secret wish?
I do not think it is much of a secret any more but my wish is to be Miss Mississippi's Most Outstanding Teen

What was your most embarrassing moment?
My most embarrassing moment was on Veteran's Day of this previous year. All the students were required to dress up for the assembly that day. The end of the day came and I was in a hurry to be at a meeting on the other side of town. I had the bright idea of trying "fast walk", in my high heels, down the very steep hill in front of my school, with a very heavy book bag. I somehow managed to "lose a stiletto" and roll down the hill, in a dress, in front of the entire high school and junior high. I was not physically injured but my books were scattered, my underwear was exposed, and I had a seriously bruised ego! "High heels and steep hills don't mix" is the expression I like to use to describe the incident. My friends and I still laugh about it today.

What is your biggest guilty pleasure?
My biggest guilty pleasure would have to be my secret Taco Bell runs when I have a bad day!

What is your favorite movie and why?
"My Big Fat Greek Wedding" would have to be my favorite movie. I find almost every scene of the movie to have some humor in it and the warm and touching family ethics present a good example. I also love how it was set in the real world and not the alternate "Hollywood Universe". This movie was easy for me to relate to in some ways and I can watch it over and over with out getting tired of it!

What do you like to do for fun... relaxation... recreation?
Traveling to new places and meeting new people tops my list as my favorite thing i do for fun. On the average free day going to play tennis or golf and going out with my friends! In the summer I love to go to Grenada lake and go water skiing and inner tubing with my friends and family. Once a year I get the great opportunity to go snow skiing and I love every second of it!

What would be your dream vacation or destination?
My dream destination changes all the time but this week I would have to say learning to surf on the Australian beaches sounds "like a dream"!

What do you like best about the state of Mississippi?
Mississippi has such a variety of beauty. Whether you are on the Mississippi river, down on the coast, or in the delta there is always something beautiful to see. The hospitality of the people who live in our state is also outstanding to me.

Where do you see yourself in ten years?
If things go as I hope for, I see myself out of graduate school and beginning my career.

What extracurricular activities do you participate in?
I play varsity tennis for my school, I run track, and I have recently picked up golf! I love to sing and perform and lately I have devoted a vast amount of time working as a volunteer in my community. I am a member of the Junior Auxiliary Crown Club and the Grenada Sub. Deb. Cotillion Club. I am also a member of the K Club at my school.

Who am I?
I am a seventeen year old senior at Kirk Academy in Grenada where I am involved in many extra curricular activities. I am a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church and I love the Lord with all of my heart. I love to talk and I probably know more useless information than anyone you have ever met! Sometimes I am very random and laugh a little too much. I am a big dreamer and I am just realizing how important your grades in school are! I live with my wonderful parents and I have an awesome older sister who is a senior at Ole Miss in Oxford. I really love animals and children and I have a pet bird, dog, and cat. Ben Stiller once quoted "I've become able to get outside that kind of emotional trap and learn to have more fun and enjoy my life much more." and lately that could very much describe my attitude. I do not let people bring me down! I was once told that the future we imagine for ourselves is more than a dream. It’s a promise if you want it badly enough. I am trying to make my hopes for my future a reality.

Tell us about your platform.
My platform is St.Jude - Helping Kids and Teens With Cancer. "St. Jude welcomes treating physician referrals of children and adolescents with newly diagnosed untreated or suspected cancer; HIV infections; or certain hematologic, immunologic, or genetic diseases."

I have a personal relationship with a former patient of St. Jude. The entire St. Jude organization helps ill children gain a "new lease on life". I will support the hospital, its patients, and its fund-raising program for the rest of my life.

Here are some quick interesting facts:

St. Jude is the only pediatric research center where families never pay for treatment not covered by insurance, and families without insurance are never asked to pay. St.Jude is funded by ALSAC and public contributions.

The hospital's daily operating costs are approximately $1,220,004, which are primarily covered by public contributions.

St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, founded by the late entertainer Danny Thomas, maintains 60 inpatient beds and treats about 230 patients each day, about 4,900 in active status, most of whom are treated on an outpatient basis.
