I play the piano, organ, and clarinet. I am also good with my hands because I make purses and jewelry. Back to Top What is the best advice you have ever received? My dad always tells me to think for myself and never let others influence my decisions in life. Back to Top Name one thing you cannot live without. I cannot live without sweets, especially cup cakes. Back to Top What's the most valuable lesson you've ever learned? I have learned to never worry about anything in life. Whenever I start to worry about something, I always remember this scripture from the Bible - "Don't worry about anything, instead pray about everything and thank God for His answers." Back to Top Who is your most valued role model and why? My mom is my most valued role model. Not only was she my 11th and 12th grade English teacher, she offers good advice, and she always tells me the truth about everything. Back to Top What was your most unexpected moment? My most unexpected moment was when I was crowned Homecoming Queen at my high school. I was always shy and quiet around people and not popular; therefore, I was not expecting the student body to vote for me Back to Top What is your workout routine? My workout routine consists of 30 to 50 minutes of cardio. I also lift leg and arm weights and work on my exercise ball. Back to Top What has been your biggest accomplishment to date? Right now, my biggest accomplishment to date is being crowned Miss Delta State University. This is my biggest accomplishment because I am new to pageants. As a matter of fact, this was the second pageant I have ever entered. Back to Top What is the best compliment you have ever recieved? The best compliment I have ever received was that I have a beautiful smile and that I am a very nice person who has a pleasing personality. Back to Top What is your secret wish? My secret wish is to move to New York and become a supermodel. Back to Top What was your most embarrassing moment? My best friend and I were walking to the gym, and two puppies started barking at us. Being in a state of trepidation, we started to run and scream, and to our surprise, students outside the cafeteria began to laugh at us. Back to Top What is your biggest guilty pleasure? My biggest guilty pleasure is cup cakes and Pizza Hut Meat Lovers Pizza. Back to Top What is your favorite movie and why? I like "Johnson's Family Vacation" because the situations this family encounters are hilarious. I have seen this movie over 10 times and to this day, I still laugh when I watch the movie. Back to Top What do you like to do for fun... relaxation... recreation? For fun I like to spend time watching movies - anything funny or extremely scary. I also enjoy trying to cook, and, of course, shopping. Back to Top What would be your dream vacation or destination? My dream vacation would be Mexico. I would love to go to Mexico because I know how to speak a little Spanish; moreover, I also like their culture and food. Back to Top What do you like best about the state of Mississippi? What I like most about the state of Mississippi is the southern food and hospitality. Back to Top Where do you see yourself in ten years? In ten years I see myself teaching piano in my studio, teaching music at an elementary school, and selling million dollar homes. Back to Top Who am I? When people first meet me, I may seem to be a shy, quiet, and reserved person. But once people get to know me, I have a different persona - I love talking to people, and some may say that I am goofy because I laugh a lot. My passion is music. Music is my passion because it is one of the most important things that I like to do. I started music over 10 years ago by taking piano lessons. I love music so much, I entered college and decided to major in music education; that way I can teach others what music has to offer. Also while in college, I joined Mu Phi Epsilon, which is a music fraternity.
Besides music, there are many other things that I would like to tell you about myself. On my spare time, I love to make jewelry, purses, watch scary movies, exercise and watch the Food Network, even though I can not cook. However, my favorite foods are my mom's spaghetti and tacos, my grandmother's grits, and my aunt's apple pie and hot-water cornbread.
Tell us about your platform.
Now, I enjoy working with students and teaching them about music. When I see that they understand a selection, I am enraptured. When they play a selection with feeling, that is one of the highlights of my life. Not only that, I also enjoy the reactions that I receive from students when they hear me perform - it is a feeling that I really can not explain.
