What makes you special and unique?
I'm a very energetic person. All throughout high school I was always the student that was trying to make everyone laugh and trying to make fun out of any situation. I was voted most spirited every year because I'm always the person going crazy, acting goofy, and entertaining everyone. Now that I'm in college anyone that lives on my hall in the dorms will tell you nothing has changed. I'm still that crazy girl always up and down the hall entertaining everyone with something random and off the wall. You never know when you'll walk into our dorm hall and see me and my roommate playing hockey with brooms or putting on a tacky modeling show just for laughs.

What is the best advice you have ever received?
The best advice I ever received was from my grandmother telling me not to sweat the small things. As a child, I always let the little things get to me and it left me missing out on all the bigger things in life. After she told me this, it took me awhile but it finally sank in one day. If we just all overlook the small things that upset us and let them go we can enjoy so many more blessings of life.

Name one thing you cannot live without.
I could not live without my Bible. I think this book is a very important part of my life and a guide to everyday life. Anytime I face a situation or need to help someone else out, this is the one book I can rely on for any of the best advice.

What's the most valuable lesson you've ever learned?
The most valuable lesson I have learned throughout my life is to always be myself. No matter what situation I'm faced with the best thing to do is always be myself. I have learned in life that people will respect you more if you stand up for what you believe in and guard your morals instead of changing who you are for a situation.

Who is your most valued role model and why?
My most valued role model would have to be my "Nana." My grandmother has taught me so much in life and is the wisest woman I know. She has always been there for me no matter what and I know that no matter what my situation is I can always talk to her. I remember the small things she has done for me such as swinging me in the dark on her front porch swing and humming as well as the big things like support me through college and her encouragement to make it through life. I have experienced so much with my "Nana" and wouldn't take a single moment away from my memories with her. They are each very dear and special to me and I look forward to many more over the years.

What was your most unexpected moment?
My most unexpected moment would have to be when I was in eighth grade and made the cheerleading squad. I never pictured myself as lucky enough to make the squad and I was so nervous the entire day of tryouts. As we went back to pick up our envelope that night with all the new squads name on it, I remember not even wanting to pick mine up because I just knew I had not made it. To a large surprise I opened the envelope with my name on the list. I never expected to be on that list and never knew that cheerleading would become such a big part of my life and one of my most valued memories of high school. To add to my surprise, my senior year I got captain and enjoyed every moment of a wonderful year of cheering.

What is your workout routine?
My workout routine starts with a good stretch, then I plug in my iPod, scroll down to my workout playlist where I have loaded all the songs that get you pumped, then I walk through campus. I continue to push myself trying to make myself walk longer everyday. Occasionally I begin to run and push myself to run further distances each time. At the end of my walk as I get back to my dorm, I like to end with a stretch. I also like to go to the gym and start with the treadmill then do weights. My favorite is the leg press and before I leave the gym I always do crunches.

What has been your biggest accomplishment to date?
I would consider my biggest accomplishment to be not only graduating from high school and finishing my first year of college but also becoming involved. So many times I find it so hard to balance my academics with social. I want to give up, but I know that I am very blessed to be able to do the things I do and be involved in the activities I'm involved in. I'm very privileged to be able to attend college and I realize there are many young adults my age who would love the opportunity to get a higher education. I am very proud of myself for graduating high school and staying involved in my school and carrying that over into my college study.

What is the best compliment you have ever recieved?
The best compliment I ever received was when a little girl at a camp I worked at said she wanted to be like me when she got to be my age. I thought that was so adorable and it really touched me to know that she really looked up to me so much she wanted to be like me.

What is your secret wish?
My secret wish is after graduating from college, marriage, and settling into a good job, I want lots of children. I have always had a big heart for children. I love playing with them, watching them laugh, holding them, helping them, and watching them grow. I secretly wish to have lots of children of my own one day.

What was your most embarrassing moment?
My most embarrassing moment was my junior year in high school when I tripped in the hallway and fell face first. It felt like I slid a mile down the hall, and I remember when I got up it seemed as if the entire student body had all eyes on me!

What is your biggest guilty pleasure?
I love chocolate. I have a weak spot for chocolate, and so many times when I'm trying to eat healthy I pass it up for chocolate.

What is your favorite movie and why?
My favorite movie is the Wizard of Oz. I love this movie because not only is it so innocent, but it seems like no matter how many times I watch it the movie it always seems to put a smile on my face. I love watching Dorothy with her pigtails walk down the yellow brick road, and it amazes me how she puts her problems aside to help the Scarecrow, the Lion, and the Tin Man.

What do you like to do for fun... relaxation... recreation?
I love to go to the lake. In the summer if I'm not babysitting you can find me at the lake. I'll probably be laid out on a boat trying to get a tan, acting crazy and showing out on my jet ski, playing on the beach with kids, or my favorite thing water skiing. You can have fun, relax, and have some recreation all at the lake.

What would be your dream vacation or destination?
My dream vacation is Tahiti. I've always wanted to go there because of the beautiful ocean view and beaches they have. I love looking at the gorgeous scenes of Tahiti and one day I hope that I get to experience that view first hand.

What do you like best about the state of Mississippi?
I love the people. I've never been to another state or country where the people were as friendly as the people in Mississippi. There is nothing like the Mississippi hospitality.

Where do you see yourself in ten years?
In ten years I see myself working at a graphic design firm, married, and starting a family.

Who am I?
I'm a very adventurous person; most of the time I am up for trying anything - as long as it is within reason. I love hanging out with my friends and it's so hard to keep me in one place. I'm one of those people who wants to go and do it all. I'm easily amused by small things and tend to explore a lot just to see how things work. I'm very energetic girl, and I've always been that way. I can remember elementary school how I was never a bad kid, but I always was so energetic and I probably drove my teachers insane. As I got older I always thought I would eventually become more calm but that never happened. I'm still that same girl, waking up every morning ready to go with a smile on my face and ready for a new day.

When I was in fifth grade, I began taking singing lessons. I had tried pretty much every sport and activity by that time so I thought this was just another adventure in my life. I can remember my voice teacher getting me ready for the school talent show and I really did not care that much about it. When I got there, I got up and did my song, and I was ready to leave after. My mom made me stay for the awards even though I really did not want to. I knew that the talent show included kindergarten through seniors in high school so I really did not have much of a shot at getting any of the awards. Well when it came time to give out the awards they named off all the small categories and then got down to the overall winner. When they said my name for overall winner I could not believe it. Since then I have had a passion for singing. I was never shy about getting up on a stage to perform. And still to this day I do not get nervous at all about singing for a crowd. I love it and to me it's all fun.

College is really a new experience for me. I really don't think that I was prepared for what all college has been. I love Delta State and enjoy the crowd of students I hang out with. I've really developed great new relationships with a lot of people and really learned more about myself. It is much more different than my home town and high school. I love spending time with my sorority sisters and all the great people I have met here at school. My cousin Haley and I both started at Delta State together so that made it even more fun. Together we've made great relationships with many new people. My roommate has also made college so much more exciting to me. She is a spur of the moment girl and anything she does never seems to surprise me, but it always makes me laugh. Delta State and the people have really helped me develop as a person and help me to find more out about myself.

Tell us about your platform.
I chose mentoring as my platform because of the big heart I have for children. Then I learned that mentoring goes past children, it also includes my peers and can even include people older than me. I'm so glad I chose this platform because I think not only has it touched the lives of others, but it has also changed me as a person. I can remember helping out at a Nashville inner city child care service and getting to be one on one with many of the children. So many of them were neglected and had such hard lives. This really helped me to appreciate my life more. After spending the week with these children I began to appreciate how blessed I am to have such a wonderful family and caring friends.

I think everyone needs a mentor whether it be a parent, grandparent, friend, or peer. Whoever you choose to look up to is your choice, but I think we all have that someone in life that we look up to. You never know who may be looking up to you so my best advice when it comes to mentoring is always be at your best. Never let your standards down or compromise your morals. You never know if someone that looks up to you is near by or will know about what you do. It's so important to me to set the best example no matter if I think someone will know about it or not. I would hate for someone to make a mistake and when confronted about it they say well I saw her do it so I thought it was ok. Mentoring is important to me and I think everyone needs to be there for someone and set a good example to be followed.
