What makes you special and unique?
People say they enjoy being around me because I make them smile and laugh. I say things off the top of my head, and my wit often takes people by surprise.

What is the best advice you have ever received?
In the words of my loving mom, "Just keep smiling!"

Name one thing you cannot live without.
I can't do without a daily dose of "Will and Grace." I wake up and go to bed watching this hilarious TV show. Sadly, though, all the episodes are reruns!

What's the most valuable lesson you've ever learned?
I have learned to always remember that when God closes a door, a window opens.

Who is your most valued role model and why?
My mother is who I admire the most. She is a great listener, and whenever I come to her for advice, she puts my happiness first. Her answer is always "whatever makes you happy will make me happy." She shows me by example every day how to be a strong, independent woman who works towards a goal, but one who always puts family first.

What was your most unexpected moment?
I was so excited to receive a letter saying that I had been selected to tour and perform in Europe with the Fame All-Star show choir. Less than 40 performers were chosen in tryouts held across the United States. It was a great honor!

What is your workout routine?
I use a variety of exercise forms, including running, weight lifting, cycling and, of course, dancing, to stay in the best shape possible.

What has been your biggest accomplishment to date?
I never imagined that I would be given the opportunity to perform as a storybook character at Walt Disney World, but I did! In my role there, I was able to do what others only dream of!

What is the best compliment you have ever recieved?
I am always flattered to hear, "Who knew such a big voice could come from such a petite young woman!"

What is your secret wish?
My wish is not a secret, but instead is one that I openly strive to fulfill. My wish is to have a long, happy and successful life.

What was your most embarrassing moment?
I was filing in as a server at a Walt Disney World restaurant. As I turned to hand a customer his french fries, I spilled them everywhere! I looked up and realized it was Rick Schroeder, the TV star, and he was laughing at me. You can only imagine how embarrassed I was!

What is your biggest guilty pleasure?
Buying off E-Bay. It’s just like shopping, but you never have to leave home.

What is your favorite movie and why?
Cinderella. It has the perfect fairy tale ending, where they live happily every after. What more could you ask for?

What do you like to do for fun... relaxation... recreation?
My favorite way to wind down is to spend a week each summer at the beach in Florida. It's a great time for our family to be together. I also enjoy traveling to new places.

Who am I?
Passion can make a person achieve what others think impossible. It’s the drive to become or do something that others only think about. Passion is a huge part of who I am. I want so much and am working daily to accomplish the goals I have in life.

Since the age of 4, I have enjoyed performing, even when it was in my grandfather’s living room. Music has been such a big part of my life. It has given me the opportunity to participate in many school activities, as well as travel to Europe with the Fame All-Star Show Choir. This past year, I was selected to portray a storybook character at Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida. I will never forget this experience and the impact it had on me. Having a passion for music and acting, my dream is to one day live in New York City and perform on stage. One of my goals in life is to have an influence on people’s lives through the use of entertainment.

I am also passionate about spending time with my family and friends, being around children and traveling. I hope to someday see the world and learn more about other countries and their cultures. I have many goals to achieve in this lifetime and I consider each day an opportunity to learn something new, either about myself as a person or about life. Being passionate is what makes me who I am, and I hope to convey to people around me just how exciting and full of adventure life is.

Tell us about your platform.
Ovarian cancer awareness and early detection are extremely important issues in today's society. Having had a personal experience with this disease, I have become passionate about making others aware of its impact. Ovarian cancer is the fifth leading cause of cancer deaths among women in the U.S. and only 25 percent of cases coincide with early stage diagnosis. Women of all ages need to know how important the risk factors are and what they can do to prevent this disease -- early detection can increase survival rates to over 90 percent.

The National Ovarian Cancer Coalition and the Ovarian Cancer National Alliance are two organizations that help provide awareness regarding ovarian cancer. The NOCC is committed to providing education and support for women with ovarian cancer and their families. Its "Break the Silence" campaign is a national program created to raise awareness, and the OCNA has similar goals. Both are advocates for increased ovarian cancer research funding and promote education and awareness for the public, cancer survivors and their families and health care professionals.

As of now, the NOCC does not have a division in Mississippi, and the partner-member group of the OCNA is closed because of Hurricane Katrina. My goal is to help re-establish the Ovarian Cancer National Alliance in Mississippi and reinforce the principles behind these organizations. Only with adequate education and awareness of early detection will women see a decreased rate in the severity of ovarian cancer in today's society.
