My hobbies include supporting Ole Miss athletics, learning about new cultures, playing movie trivia games with my friends, scrap booking, and shopping on Ebay. Back to Top What makes you special and unique? Education has always been an important part of who I am. I attended the Mississippi School for Mathematics and Science and as a 15 year old 3 hours away from the comforts of home, taking this chance to better myself has helped make me special and unique. Not many students are allotted the opportunity to attend the prestigious high school, but as a graduate I feel it has given me the ability to realize my potential. Back to Top What is the best advice you have ever received? "Be Yourself". My Kindergarten teacher was very supportive of all her students and would constantly remind us that we were all individuals who would grow up to be exceptional individuals if we remained true to ourselves and never compromised. Even today I still strive to be myself. Back to Top Name one thing you cannot live without. I am an extremely organized person and any help I can get along the way is valued- my planner helps me do just that. Every day I love to fill it to the brim with what I want to accomplish; there is no way I could live without it. Back to Top What is the most valuable lesson you ever learned? My mother always says things happen for a reason and just because something doesn’t go the way you wanted it that doesn’t mean there isn’t a silver lining. Many times in life I haven’t come out on top but I know there is a reason for the outcome. There is always something bigger and brighter just around the corner. Back to Top Who is your most valued role model and why? Former Supreme Court Justice Sandra Day O’Conner has always been a role model to me. As a female interested in America’s legal system, her serving as the first female Supreme Court Justice has been a constant source of inspiration as I make my leap into the judicial system of America. Back to Top What was your most unexpected moment? My most unexpected moment was being selected as the Executive Director of the Ole Miss Ambassadors program. I have a great deal of respect for the University of Mississippi and being given the opportunity to positively promote and educate potential students to the great benefits of attending such a “great American public university” has been a truly unexpected blessing. Back to Top What is your workout routine? Variety is the spice of life and workout routines too. I enjoy listening to motivational music (to keep me excited about exercise) and trying new things like Pilates or exercise bands while still keeping to core activities like weight training and jogging. Back to Top What has been your biggest accomplishment to date? My most meaningful accomplishment is my recent acceptance into law school. Ever since I can remember I have wanted to be a lawyer and I worked incredibly hard to attain that goal. You should have seen me jumping up and down when I received my acceptance letter in the mail. Back to Top What is the best compliment you have ever recieved? The best compliment I ever received was that my smile actually brightened someone’s day. I always thought it was just something people said, but when a close friend of mine serving in Iraq told me that getting to see me smile made his day I knew it was much more than a saying. I always try to smile now because I never know if it could brighten someone’s day. Back to Top What is your secret wish? My secret wish is not your typical answer. Lots of people want to end up on the big screen, but I have always thought it would be interesting to work behind-the-scenes in Hollywood as a set decorator or costume designer. While the actors might be the main focus of movies if it wasn’t for these individuals, the whole movie would fall apart. Back to Top What was your most embarrassing moment? I have never been one to embarrass easily. But I think I turned bright red the day when I went tumbling down some stairs on campus in front of some of my friends. Luckily, I wasn’t hurt and ended up laughing about it but at the time I wanted to just disappear. Back to Top What is your biggest guilty pleasure? My biggest guilty pleasure has to be horror movies. Good, bad, gruesome- I’ll watch any scary movie. Sometimes they’re good for a jump or two but mostly it’s the belly laughs that keep me coming back for me for more. My friends and I always check the movie schedules for anything scary at the theaters. Back to Top What is your favorite movie and why? "Giant" is my favorite movie. I am a huge fan of the late James Dean and in this film you get to see just how he might have progressed physically if he had not been killed in a tragic accident. Even though it was released in 1956, “Giant” is an epic film about love and relationships. Every time I watch I pick up on something new. Back to Top What do you like to do for fun... relaxation... recreation? I’m your pretty typical college student. Living in Oxford gives me the chance to shop on the Historic Square which is the most fun. Even if it’s shoe shopping or looking for antiques, you can find all sorts of amazing stuff. I also like scrap booking, playing board games with my friends, supporting Ole Miss athletics, and spending time at home with my family just watching movies together and making memories. A good day at the spa for pampering is the best way I know how to relax. Plus, sleeping-in when I get the chance is always fun! Back to Top What would be your dream vacation or destination? I would love to take a “Tour of Italy”. I would go to all the best cities. Rome, Venice, Naples, Florence, and Milan. Trying the local cuisine, visiting all the historic sites, hitting all the best shopping sites and just exploring such a rich culture would be the ultimate dream vacation for me. I would love to just spend an entire summer discovering Italy. Back to Top What do you like best about the state of Mississippi? Without a doubt I don’t just like, I love the people of Mississippi. Mississippians have always been a hospitable, caring, amazing group of people. We have a rich history and a bright future ahead of us. To me, there is no better place than Mississippi and I am proud to call it home. Back to Top Where do you see yourself in ten years? In ten years, I can see myself as successful corporate attorney working in Mississippi. Of course, I’d like to be starting a family and just letting God work his master plan for me. Back to Top Who am I? "Dream as if you’ll live forever. Live as if you’ll die today" This quote by my favorite actor, James Dean, is my life’s motto. I see each day as a blessing and try to live it to the fullest, as cliché as that may sound. I think of myself as an explorer always wanting to expand my body of knowledge and fill my days with positive energy. Trying new foods, having an issue based discussion with a peer, or simply trying to make a difference in my day or someone else’s are things that keep me living life to the fullest.
I also consider myself to be a very passionate, hard-working, dedicated young woman. I love throwing my entire spirit into any project, big or small, to make sure the job always gets done. I love setting goals and working to accomplish them. Leadership roles don’t scare me; they give me the motivation to be the inspiration for others. Those three qualities help me distinguish myself from the crowd and really get to the core of who I am.

I have been a mentor since my senior year of high school. I truly believe in the power of mentorship and the numbers back me up. In a recent study conducted by Big Brothers/Big Sisters, researchers found that students who were involved with mentors were 46 percent less likely to start using drugs, 52 percent less likely to skip school, and were one-third less likely to strike another. By becoming a positive influence in the life of a child, mentors are the key to keeping children on the right path to lead their generation into the future.
